WHERE FORM WALKS
A return to an early study — now reimagined with years of growth in form, material, and fidelity
This revisit of the Renegade GTX boot highlights a five-year evolution in technique and creative direction. Initially modeled as a soft-goods training exercise, the project has since matured into a benchmark of product visualization—bridging outdoor utility with automotive-level surface and lighting fidelity.
Built in Maya, rendered in Unreal Engine, and post-finished in Photoshop.

ENCHANCED FIDELITY
To achieve this level of realism, I reworked the mesh topology for clean edge flow around key transitions, ensuring accuracy in form and silhouette. Key elements like the stitching and logo threads were fully modeled, not baked — adding depth and authentic shadow behavior to the final render.
Texturing followed a layered approach, combining procedural masks and scanned references to simulate subtle wear, stitching tension, and micro-scale roughness across materials.
Lighting and framing were refined to highlight material separation without overstating it — aiming for a balance between precision and believability.
